1.5 hour guided tour
less than 1 mile walking distance
No, the tour isn't intended to scare. The stories are largely historical, with a few local haunted tales mixed in. That said, some guests, especially children, may find certain content unsettling simply because they don't yet understand it's folklore rather than fact.
Yes, absolutely. That said, we recommend leaving at home any children who scare easily, and keep in mind the tour is geared toward guests old enough to follow and appreciate historical storytelling.
About 1.5 hours, covering less than a mile through the heart of Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Yes, the tour is ADA accessible, and the route allows plenty of space for wheelchairs.
If the event is rained out, attendees will be offered a spot on another date or a refund.
Yes. Yellow Springs was officially incorporated in 1856. The tour draws on real history from that period and beyond, including the founding of Antioch College in 1852, the village's role in the Underground Railroad and the 1862 arrival of the Conway Colony, and the earlier Owenite utopian community that platted the village in 1825. It closes with the deeper history of the land itself, home to the Adena and Hopewell peoples, who built the ceremonial mounds still found in Glen Helen, and later the Shawnee, who consider the iron-rich Yellow Spring sacred. Each tour stop ties a real historical event or figure to the legend that grew up around it.
Of course! This is meant to be an experience you can enjoy in the moment and share afterward, memories for this life, and maybe a few from the other side too.
